THE TEAM
At the Swiss School of Gem-Setting – ESDS – we pride ourselves on working exclusively with professionals who are still active in the world of watchmaking and jewelry setting.
Our instructors are carefully chosen not only for their technical expertise, but also for their passion for passing on knowledge, their dedication to teaching, and their genuine, human approach.
Virginie PETITTI - founder
After having been certified as a jeweler by working for a renowned jewelry house, she works since 2008 as a professional stone-setter in jewelry and watchmaking fields.
Founder of the ESDS, she also works in the exclusive craftmanship departement of a prestigious Geneva watchmaker.
Michael - manager teacher
A doctor by training and a versatile artist, he has always been passionate about artistic and artisanal professions. He took the bold step of career change and became a jeweler-setter and a certified gemologist.
His desire to share his knowledge naturally led him to join us.
Marlène - teacher
After a career as a professional dancer, where she cultivated discipline, artistic sensitivity, and mastery of precise movements, she naturally turned to the métiers d’art. Drawn to precision work and artisanal craftsmanship, she trained in gem-setting, enameling, and colored stone cutting. Today, she is deeply committed to passing on the skills she has acquired throughout her journey, with both passion and rigor.
Elise - Apprentice Gem-Setter
After an initial path in biology and chemistry, she quickly felt the need to turn toward her true calling: art. Curious and creative, she chose to follow her intuition by pursuing gem-setting, a field perfectly aligned with her sensitivity.
Passionate and determined, she progresses with enthusiasm in this craft, which allows her to explore, learn, and share her artistic vision with our students.
